St James Quarter is the £1billion+ landmark development in the heart of Edinburgh, comprising 1m sq ft of prime retail space, two hotels, cinema, an extensive food and beverage offer plus over 200 residential units. Boxxed were responsible for the positioning, brand strategy and delivery of a wide range of supporting marketing campaigns and outputs to both business and consumer audiences to support its success. Including producing a national television advert, a website design, app design and build, launch creative campaign and much more.

Boxxed undertake numerous repositioning and rebranding projects for Marriott’s luxury hotels across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. With all new hotel launches we begin by understanding and modifying their core brand offer and how it works within the local context to ensure it encapsulates the local vernacular and culture. Striving to improve the hotel’s branding to be synonymous with their physical location, providing locals and travellers with an immersive and unique experience provided by the local area, also ensuring the commercial proposition has maximum impact.

Marriott

The Togetherworks approached us with only a concept. Born out of the pandemic we started from the beginning, building a brand and their marketing strategy alongside a tactical execution to launch this hybrid training and culture company. Their product provides dynamic and constantly evolving programming that reimagines classic workplace training techniques, building a solution to enable workers to maintain a sense of culture and team spirit in a new way. We continue to support them on their e-commerce platform and website, social strategy and content creation to continue to amplify their brand message and reach.

Family run, Myga is the world’s leading eco-friendly yoga brand. Myga started as an exclusively online offer which Boxxed provided with a full brand reposition in to the market, during this time, we helped them with their first trials into physical retail, resulting in them opening a multi-functional yoga studio and their first store in the heart of the UK at Bullring Birmingham.

Our client’s goal was to reposition the existing Kamppi shopping centre as the new go-to destination in the heart of Helsinki city. We worked to emphasise the natural pedestrian flow of the transport hub, where Metro and Bus stations interchange to elevate Kamppi as the leading mixed-used development, including retail, F&B and leisure, a unique offer to the city. This was demonstrated through the re-imagination of their brand icon and localised messaging strategy which involved extensive local research and partner workshops to ensure we captured the true essence of Kamppi and its people.

FUSE is a unique proposition working to promote careers in the retail and hospitality industries born from the need to fulfil over 1000 jobs created at St James Quarter. Our brand positioning and design help to redefine job seeker’s understanding of customer service based roles and update their opinions of working within these sectors by providing accredited qualifications and training, information and world class brands to work with.

Edinburgh Fuse

Over the past 5 years Lincolnshire Cooperative have redeveloped around a quarter of Lincoln city centre, restoring buildings, architecture and public realm to give a modern twist on its former historical glory, providing a new, go to mix-use destination in the East Midlands. Appointed as the retained agency early on in the process, we initially provided The Cornhill Quarter branding, marketing strategy, website, placemaking and leasing materials resulting in phase 1 being 80% let on completion. Phases 2 and 3 are now complete with only 3 units available and a new hotel and residential complex underway, with all open retailers thriving.

Boxxed developed the rebranding of Hobson’s micro-brewery and through this rebranding exercise, at both a brewery and individual beer line levels, elevated them from a small business to a national brand. We wanted to create a cut through in the market and this brand redevelopment paved a clear space to promote an out of the ordinary beer brand to a new segment of real ale drinkers. They now supply all major supermarkets across a multitude of outlets

Hobsons Brewery

Together for Edinburgh is a protection brand, created to disintermediate our client (St James Quarter) from unnecessary disruption that has been caused by the developments in the city centre. We created a way of protecting our client and their partners through an umbrella brand to distribute any uncomfortable communications. The partners of the project included all developers, the local council and the Scottish government. These came together to improve Edinburgh as a city and all building environments going forward.

Our client acquired the dated Pallasades Shopping Centre in the heart of Birmingham with a vision to transform it into a modern, premium shopping and lifestyle destination atop New St Railway Station, the busiest transport hub in the UK outside of London. Partnering on the project from inception, we repositioned the destination and gave it an extensively consumer-tested new name and brand ID, conveying the offer of a more premium experience to travellers and shoppers. Attracting new retailers and operators was part of our brief, and was successfully fulfilled 18months from opening, as well as ongoing consumer engagement throughout construction leading to a truly magical launch. Today, the centre attracts over 40million visits a year. And growing!

Grand Central, Birmingham

The Helsinki City Competition was a collaboration between a number of international architectures, urban design agencies and Boxxed. Before the development, Boxxed help steer and inform the initial explorations by helping the team focus on a human-centred design approach. Our involvement in the project included our interpretations of global trends and insights which helped towards the eventual finalised plans and presentations of the building to the City. These incorporated concepts of how we could connect the users to their city, by creating engaging recreational spaces, introducing green areas and parks around and within the building and by introducing a market hall concept to central atrium areas. 


Helsinki City Competition

Boxxed repositioned a mainstream shopping centre into a High-End outlet mall. We assisted with the early stages of the project, creating a brand that convinced prospective retailers who would have otherwise overlooked the destination to open their stores by bringing the vision of a luxury outlet mall to life. By showing the possibility of this centre we managed to usurp the process so these retailers could buy in to the dream.
